take up the most room in your heart. Those first few weeks of your baby’s life pass by so quickly and you will never have those precious moments again. It's an excellent time to have these moments captured in timeless photos. A newborn portrait session is the perfect way to capture the innocence, delicate expressions, and angelic features that fill your heart with joy. the style I strive to create a relaxed and memorable experience, while capturing a variety of angles, both posed and with a lifestyle blend that will be forever remembered through the art of photography. I enjoy getting to know what fits your style and need, whether that is through simple sets with soft colors or playful decor and vibrant colors. studio / off-site Working in my studio allows me to shoot in a controlled environment. Lighting, a variation of props, and room temperatures are very important to the success of a newborn session. However, I am willing to capture newborn portraits in the beautiful settings of your home. If we photography from your home, we will focus more on lifestyle photos. I will also bring along lighting equipment, as well as some blankets and accessories for the “classic” posed newborn portraits. Additional fees do apply for off-site newborn sessions. what to wear | what to bring I have my own selection of accessories, but I always think it's a great idea for parents to shop at Etsy.com for cute bloomers (diaper covers), knit hats and headbands. I want your photos to be unlike any other ones out there, so when pieces I don't have trickle through the door, it always a bonus. As for parents, black or flesh tone shirts (more fitted and short sleeve) work great. For a formal family portrait, I would suggest wearing more textured clothing with deep colors (avoiding a lot of all black or white). I always love burgundy, browns, oranges, greens, and so forth. For your baby, please bring extra formula if you are not nursing, diapers, pacifier, and more than you think you will need. It is very important that you keep your little one awake as long as possible prior to your session. If they sleep too much before they arrive, they may be fussy when you arrive and delay the process. Please DO NOT bring other children to the newborn session. It is very important that the studio is quiet. If a family portrait is being added on, siblings are welcome in the studio during the last half hour. artistically edited Following your session, I will select the best images for processing and retouching. I am devoted to sorting through all of your images and editing the best, based on facial expressions, posing, lighting, sharpness, and overall appeal. The final 20-30 images are each individually processed and enhanced into a true work of art. Approximately 7-10 business days following your session, you can expect to see your photos and discuss any printing options that would be ideal for your home, office and family. |

It is never too early to book! Your due date will be noted in my calendar, so I know to expect your call around that timeline. Newborn portraits are ideally captured within the first 4-10 days after delivery. This will help ensure we have the best opportunity to photograph your baby sleeping deeply and curling up naturally for those precious newborn poses. However, I understand that these first few weeks can be unpredictable, so I do what I can to work with you under any circumstances. Although it is important to book these sessions in advance, I will still try to work with parents who decide after the baby is born to book a session. My schedule is more limited with this kind of request, but I will do what I can for you. An $85.00 session fee/retainer will reserve your date/time.
