{maternity}
pregnancy
You are two blossoms on a single branch. This is such a special and memorable time and one you should enjoy to the fullest. These are your first moments of motherhood and they are priceless! A maternity session is the perfect way to capture your gorgeous glow. A grand adventure is about to begin!
photography style
I strive to create a relaxed and comfortable environment, while capturing a variety of artistic portraits. My goal is to create maternity portraits that are beautiful and intimate. Lifestyle photos are key to these sessions, as it's the simple smile when you think of your little one that will enhance each image. I will help pose you and direct you throughout your entire session. After the session, I use retouching to bring out the best in your maternity portraits.
what to wear
Styling is a key element for artful and timeless photography. For studio portraits, you have the option for a boudoir style. This may include showing a little more skin, if you feel comfortable. For this, I suggest bringing flattering feminine underwear. For silhouette photos, I recommend bringing a pair of black underwear and bra. For outdoors sessions, I recommend outfits that flatter your shape and accentuate your curves. I love rich textures, simple patterns, scarves, and ruffles. Feel free to bring a few different outfits and I can help you choose when you arrive. You are also free to send me photos of your outfits and I can help you plan ahead.
artistically edited
Following your session, I will select the best images for processing and retouching. I devote my time to carefully comparing the numerous images from your session to select the best ones ~ based on facial expressions, posing, lighting, and overall appeal. These final selections are each individually edited and turned into a true work of art.
scheduling
My schedule fills up quickly, so it is always best to contact me sooner than later for an appointment. Maternity photography is best captured around 32 to 36 weeks, when your belly is full and round (and you are still feeling as comfortable as can be expected), however sessions can be scheduled up until your due date. This timing can be different for everyone. Feel free to ask me any questions!
studio or outdoors?
Whether you prefer fine art maternity photography in the studio, or stylish lifestyle photos outdoors, there are endless possibilities for any desired outcome. My studio is comfortable and offers an abundance of natural light. However, if the weather permits, I love capturing some natural scenes and always make the suggestion if I feel it's appropriate.
investment
Your investment will include an online gallery and edited photos. The session fee is the required retainer fee to reserve your date/time. You may purchase individual prints, individual copyrights or your entire set of images.
